Crews in Faulkton, South Dakota, are making progress on the county’s new jail.

The sheriff’s office posted pictures of the ongoing construction of the new jail, saying it’s starting to look like a building.

Last year, voters approved higher property taxes to pay for the $5.5 million jail.

The county’s current jail was built in 1930 and can only hold up to 16 prisoners. This new building is expected to hold 35 inmates.
